The 2021 dust control season is just around the corner. Do not delay getting your applications in to us with deadlines looming for Marion, Lucas, Appanoose, Monroe, southern Jasper and Warren counties for first application.

A little-known fact, there is over 66,000 miles of gravel rural roads in the state of Iowa. that can add to a lot of dust in the air. There are several issues, and I will only touch base on a couple of the gravel road concerns. First and by far the most important is visibility. As farm equipment increases the dust can cause zero visibility for an oncoming driver making the way for a hazardous situation.  Also, by controlling the dust we can cause less damage to our vehicles as well as the environment near it. To take into consideration dust is very important sign to costly road damage that is occurring and that will require costly time-consuming maintenance soon.

Here at Smith Fertilizer and Grain we provide a great solution to tame the dust monster we all love to hate in the country. We provide a dust control service to rural customers; where we apply liquid product to the gravel roads to suppress the dust. If you are looking for a solution you can go to our website, call us, or print the application off and mail it to us. You can sign up for 1st application only, 2nd application only or sign up for both applications. Some counties will only allow one application date, so read the info carefully and if you have any question call us, we will be glad to help you.
